Neighborhoods

As Downtown begins to thrive, we must ensure Dayton’s Neighborhoods get the resources they deserve. Darryl was a leader in passing Dayton’s Comprehensive Plan to improve our sidewalks and our parks, and also push forward equitable access to food, housing, healthcare, voting, jobs, education, internet, and green space.

Housing

Safe, affordable home is a right, not a luxury. Darryl Fairchild added more funds for home repairs, and passed the Dayton Housing Bill of Rights, making housing a fundamental human right and addressing issues like redlining, vacant properties, discrimination in housing access, housing affordability, subpar housing conditions, and protecting tenants from unfair evictions.

Jobs

Darryl Fairchild leveraged our area’s assets to grow jobs and attract new industries. He’s invested in our economic drivers, and advocates utilizing the city’s fiber optic network, expanding HUBZone businesses, and protecting and promoting Dayton’s water resources. 

Education

Darry Fairchild secured $1 million for our youth, maintained funding for preschool promise,  and works to stabilize the blocks around schools while holding Dayton Public Schools accountable for making schools safe, well-resourced community centers.

Transparency

Darry believes government transparency is essential for building public trust, ensuring accountability, and preventing corruption. When decisions and spending are made openly, citizens can hold leaders responsible and participate meaningfully in civic life. A transparent government strengthens democracy by giving people the information they need to advocate for fair, equitable, and effective policies.
